Cheryl is a Canadian singer songwriter and Wild Nellies cofounder. She was born to a working-class family, with her dad employed at General Motors in Oshawa and her mom at home raising kids. Cheryl began singing at two years old and at age eight, she woke from a dream with an entire song to write down—melody and all!
Her debut album Any Road North (2008), won two song writing awards at the Ontario Independent Music Awards in Toronto, Ontario. She released her self titled EP in 2014, and a music video to YouTube the following year for her single Dandelion Wine. Cheryl’s music can be heard on CBC Radio Canada and various radio stations abroad in Europe and Australia. Her music is available on iTunes and Amazon where it’s downloaded by listeners around the world!
She has been described as a soulful singer whose lyrics’ deep emotional appeal express many of her own life experiences. Cheryl is presently working on her third album set for release this year, along with her next music video! Her biggest thrill is the song writing process—creating something unique and artistic to inspire and connect with the world.
