She has worked with Canada’s top Grammy and Juno award winning songwriters (Stephan Moccio (Celine, Miley Cyrus, The Weeknd), Rob Wells (Bieber, Adele) Marc Jordan (Rod Stewart), Dan Hill, Josh Groban, Tawgs Salter, Dean McTaggart, David Martin, etc.) both as a co-writer and as the voice representing their works. Her songs have also been recorded by major label francophone artists (Mireille Mathieu, Marie Mai). Located in the Greater Toronto Area, she is one of the most exclusive and highly rated vocal coaches in the nation, whose teaching and coaching ability is unparalleled. In 2010 Roberta launched The Bird Loft School Of Voice- a vocal boutique offering world class vocal coaching, artist development, songwriting mentorship and in-studio vocal consulting and coaching. Roberta rapidly became one of Toronto’s most in demand contemporary vocal coaches by teaching her effective, protective and healing vocal techniques that marry traditional Italian Bel Canto with contemporary voice. Her skills have been honed over 25 years as a full time professional singer/songwriter, major label recording artist and performer. She is regarded by music industry elite to be one of the most effective and skilled vocal coaches in Canada. Located in Oshawa, Roberta has helped hundreds of students transform their voices in a timely manner. Her student retention rate is over 90% and she is highly recommended by her students, past and present.
In June 2014 Roberta was retained by Lifetime Network as the personal vocal coach to Disney superstar Zendaya, for her recordings of Aaliyah’s songs for the biopic of the late ‘princess of RnB’. She was also the on-set musical coach/coordinator for the same film for actress Alex Schick and cast. That year she was also the vocal producer for the Mini Pop Kids album and has been the personal vocal coach to many of the Mini Pop Kids for several years.
Also in 2014 she executive produced and co-wrote the album “Birdsong” with her students, featuring 14 of their flawless original tracks. Several of these songs received placements in multiple categories of the prestigious International Songwriting Competition (ISC) in 2014 and 2015 beating out thousands of signed and unsigned writers from around the wold- one of which received placement in a Final category placing it in the top 150 songs amongst 18,000 submissions.
She has executive produced over 75 professionally recorded YouTube cover videos for her students since mid 2016 and has executive produced in excess of 100 professionally recorded tracks of originals and covers for her students since 2014. In 2016 Roberta created an exclusive program for her students- The Bird Loft Cover Recording Sessions, that produces over 50 professional recordings and accompanying videos for her students ANNUALLY. These videos have helped secure involvement for her students past and present on the rosters of The Voice (USA), America’s Got Talent (USA), Mini Pop Kids, and Nickelodeon.
Roberta passionately donates her expertise to various community initiatives (Denise House, hospital ward performances, Back Door Mission, Tim Hortons Camp Day and other charities and fundraisers. And she was just awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by Oshawa Music Week acknowledging not only her past achievements but her ongoing contribution to the development of music and artists in her community.
Roberta regularly creates FREE live performance opportunities for her students by producing several live musical events with full live musical accompaniment each year.
